Supporting young careers
Zenith, the UK’s leading independent leasing, fleet management, and vehicle outsourcing business, this week opened its doors to pupils of Abbey Grange CofE Academy for a morning dedicated to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The visit was attended by 40 female Year 10 and 11 students who are studying STEM-related GCSE courses. The event was designed to give students a real insight into the world of work, while providing them with further understanding into how practical skills within STEM subjects connect to future careers.
The day’s programme included group-based STEM activities and workshops – all of which related to the automotive sector – and concluded with a Q&A panel discussion with leaders from across the Zenith Group.
"We’re committed to providing career opportunities to the local community, and were delighted to welcome female students from Abbey Grange CofE Academy – a school we’ve had a strong relationship with for many years." "Zenith sits within a typically male-dominated sector, and we’re always looking at ways to support women and non-binary people, which allows us to increase gender representation. We’re proud to have been able to host our own workshop to provide career advice to the 40 amazing students, while encouraging girls in our own community to establish a career in STEM."
