Volkswagen Group UK's next steps:

  • Although our Group has identified that a service procedure is required for affected vehicles, this has not yet been released, so no immediate action is required
  • We will work with the DVSA and DVLA to create a final and comprehensive list of affected vehicles by owner
  • We will communicate the service procedure to you once this has been released and we will work with you to prioritise vehicles to minimise disruption to your business
  • Volkswagen Group will take full responsibility for the necessary rectification arrangements and measures

Summary of key communications so far:

  • All affected vehicles are technically safe and roadworthy
  • The Volkswagen Group brands whose vehicles are affected will present the technical solutions and measures to relevant responsible authorities in October
  • An internal evaluation has established that a service procedure is required for affected vehicles
  • The required service procedure is not currently released and therefore no immediate customer action is required
  • New vehicles from the Volkswagen Group with EU6 engines currently available in the European Union are not affected All petrol models, as well as V6 TDI and V8 TDI models are not affected
