Zenith, the UK’s leading independent leasing, fleet management and vehicle outsourcing provider, has helped NG Bailey turn its LCV electrification ambitions into action, introducing a trial fleet of electric vans that will help the business explore how eLCVs can support its operations and advance its electric transition.
The project has seen 10 fully electric Ford vans join the engineering and infrastructure service provider’s 600+-strong commercial fleet, including the E-Transit Courier, E-Transit Custom, and E-Transit. The three different models will give the business first-hand experience of how electric vans perform across different use cases, while supporting wider sustainability ambitions.
Zenith is continuing to work with NG Bailey to understand how its vans are used across the business, developing a vehicle specification catalogue around its operational needs. This is helping to identify where electric vans could be a practical fit, considering vehicle size, usage, and fit-out requirements.
The project has been delivered through a collaborative approach, with Zenith bringing together its partners to support NG Bailey’s electrification plans.
Zenith worked closely with Ford, NG Bailey’s preferred van provider, while vehicle branding specialist Mediafleet created a new design reflecting the company’s refreshed brand and move towards electrification. Each vehicle has also received an internal fit-out from The Van Hub, specially tailored to the different roles each van is expected to perform.
“Electrification isn’t simply about putting electric vans on a fleet. It’s about understanding where they can work, building driver confidence, and making sure the right vehicles are matched to the right jobs.
“As the UK’s most customer-focused fleet partner, our role is to work closely with customers like NG Bailey and bring together the right expertise to make that transition work in practice. This project is a great example of how we’re keeping our customers moving sustainably, while helping NG Bailey take another important step on its electrification journey.”
Ryan Long, Head of LCV at Zenith
“By working closely with our strategic partners, we are taking practical steps to improve the sustainability of our fleet and reduce its environmental impact. This supports our wider responsibility and impact strategy, helping us reduce emissions, improve the sustainability of our operations and contribute to our long-term environmental ambitions. Through collaboration and informed decision-making, we can continue to deliver the reliable, high-quality service our customers expect while transitioning our fleet in a responsible and sustainable way.”
